Darrell leremia of ASEA presents local student with a college scholarship and helps our community thrive

ASEA is proud to have sponsored Strawberry Days and provided one of four scholarships to local students. The scholarships were awarded to Jane Olsen, Laura Davis, Ada Jensen, and Haden Preece.

Each year Strawberry Days provides service-based scholarships to high school seniors in the area. The scholarships are awarded to those who exemplify what it means to be service-oriented. Darrell leremia, Regional VP of Latin Markets, presented the check during the event and said, “This sponsorship aligns so well with our mission at ASEA of bettering people’s lives and being a force for good in the world. Our future depends on the potential of young people in our communities, and I feel so much pride in each of these young adults and in the role that ASEA plays in bettering our future.”

The theme of this year’s Strawberry Days was “The Heart of Pleasant Grove” and the celebration included live music, a parade, delicious food, rodeo, carnival rides, and, of course, strawberries. This festival started as Pleasant Grove was a major producer of strawberries from the 1920s through the 1950s and is host to the longest-running rodeo in Utah. As the event celebrated its 103rd anniversary, ASEA was excited to participate and support our community, as We power potential.™
